You can arrive at the house by 4pm.
- GETTING TO PORTUGAL FROM U.S.
From the U.S. you will most likely be coming into Lisbon. I highly recommend visiting Lisbon for several days (more info below). If you're going directly from Lisbon to Olhão arrive early Wednesday morning so you can get to the train station in the city, then get to Olhão (about 3 hours). Be sure to check the train schedule before booking your flight
- GETTING TO PORTUGAL FROM EUROPE
Book yourself a flight directly to Faro if you don't want to visit Lisbon.
- GETTING TO OLHãO
FROM LISBON: The Portuguese train system is Combos de Portugal (note the English link). It's about a 3 hour ride from Lisbon to Olhão

FROM LISBON: The Portuguese train system is Combos de Portugal (note the English link). It's about a 3 hour ride from Lisbon to Olhão
• Tickets can be purchased 60 days in advance of travel.
• There are four different stations in Lisbon, choose the one closest to your hotel.

STAYING IN LISBON_________
- Get from the airport to Lisbon by bus or taxi.
- Lisbon is an incredible city, I hope you are able to spend 3 or 4 days there while in Portugal. Several people used Air BNB last year to rent apartments and had great success.
-Two hotels I recommend that are conveniently located in the Rossio neighborhood (next door to each other):
The Art Inn: very arty and sweet, no elevator, moderate $$
DownTown Guest House: no frills, no elevator, inexpensive $

LEAVING OLHãO___________
Departure time from Art in the Algarve is 10am. When planning, keep in mind the length of
the train ride to Lisbon, then getting to the airport and then the usual airport time.
